Today was released a very new and a very hot version of EBookME. It fixes several problems from previous version and it includes new interesting features:

user defined bookmarks
saving and loading project in Packager GUI
better Windows integration (installer with JRE included, exe launchers)
experimental support of Tamil language
chapters in “Holy Bible” sample

Today was released version 2.1 of EBookME. It implements several feature-requests which were asked from you – the users. So, what can you find in the new version?

Reader:

new form for preferences
option for display rotation
status messages disabled by default
implemented shaping algorithm for arabic texts
setting of absolute position (count of characters) in book is now possible

Packager:

Drag&Drop files directly into book list
Button up/down for reordering books

Version 2.0 alpha released

We are glad to inform you about the new release of EBookME. Version 2.0 alpha comes with new features and lot of bugfixes. The main changes are:

new Swing GUI
support for right-to-left written texts
option for line-wrapping type

There are still many TODO-tasks in our sheet, but we believe you will enjoy this version.

Online version 1.9b

I’ve made some bug fixes (Midlet-version, color choosing, …) to EBookME and you can test it in the online version 1.9b (online means the applet and the Java WebStart). Midlet-version fix should solve installation problems, which occured on devices of some vendors (SE, Motorola).

Version 2.0 is comming soon (with new GUI for Packager).

Re-release 1.667

Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. I’ve compiled version 1.666 as CLDC-1.1/MIDP-2.0 by mistake. It should be (of course) CLDC-1.0/MIDP-1.0 to correct work with older devices. So I’ve rereleased corrected version under the number 1.667. I’m sorry for the troubles. Thanx goes to Timon Zuelsdorf, which reported problems to us.

With the new year we are comming with the new version of EBookME. It’s still working version, but we are lazy to write to each version letter ‘b’ as beta. And if you are asking, why is the minor version number so high, we have simple answer. Changes in code from version 1.1 are realy huge (performance increased), but functionality is not extended so much, so we didn’t want to change major version number to 2.

So, what’s new in version 1.666:

New features in 1.1 b4

Online versions (applet & Java Web Start) of EBookME were updated to version 1.1 b4. It includes 2 new features:

possibility to disable autoformat of texts (checkbox on the first tab). By default is autoformating enabled and used twice:
1. loading text from file
2. creating book by click add button
change splashscreen icon in generated book (image load button on the 3rd tab)

These new features will be included in next release (of course).

Today was released first version of EBookME 1.1 line. You can download it from Downloads page.

New version includes new import filters for text documents (HTML, DOC, PDF, …), new translations (English, German, Spanish, Czech) and very simple PDF tutorial to show you how to create your Java ME e-books.

I’d like to say “thank you” to Daniel Escobar and Andreas Schreiner for new translations.

Help wanted

Today was created new page “Help us to growth” in navigation bar. We would like to ask you, you EBookME users, to help us make application better (or the best).

If you have any comments to implemented/uninplemented functions, quality of software or any other please let us know. We need feedback from you.
Second point which you can help us is to translate application labels to new language(s) which you know (it means only to rewrite one text file, no programming experinces are needed).
